About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Design Intern who can think creatively while understanding how products function and are made.
You’ll work closely with our design and engineering teams to develop user-centric products, create 3D models and realistic renders, explore mechanisms, build physical prototypes and support projects from research and concept development through to manufacturing.
This is not a UI/UX-focused internship. The role is intended for candidates pursuing industrial or physical product design.
What You'll Do
Conduct user and market research to understand product requirements
Apply design-thinking methodologies to solve real-world problems
Develop product concepts through sketches, visualisations and form exploration
Create detailed 3D models and realistic product renders
Explore functional mechanisms and demonstrate how products will operate
Consider materials, manufacturing processes and assembly requirements while designing
Translate concepts into designs that can be prototyped and manufactured
Build physical prototypes, including quick mock-ups and franken-model prototypes
Test and refine concepts based on user, functional and manufacturing feedback
Prepare clear presentations and communicate design decisions
Collaborate with designers, engineers, vendors and other project stakeholders
